Libyan rebels continue to fight and approach Tripoli from two sides, from the town of Al-Sawija and the town of Slitan. More than 30 insurgents are killed in the fighting. Libyan rebels say they have completely captured the port city of Brega, including its refinery. Abdessalam Jalloud, the former close confidant of ruler Muammar al-Gaddafi and the “number two” in the Libyan leadership, defects to the rebels and leaves the country.
